Doctor or Engineer? There’s More To Life
Whether it’s buying a cup of coffee or deciding on a professional path, the number of alternatives and choices has grown to the point where making decisions takes up a significant portion of our time.
Everyone wants their children to be a doctor or an engineer as soon as possible. Is it, however, feasible to have only these two options? Is there anything else besides these two? Is it possible that everyone will pick these two options? Possibly a resounding ‘NO.’ So, why are so many people flocking to become doctors and engineers?
When you ask their parents about their offspring, they want to proudly proclaim that they are doctors or engineers. Engineers would then look for jobs in corporations, while doctors would either work in hospitals or open their own clinics. And they go on with their lives. They are content simply by putting the words ‘doctor’ or ‘engineer’ in front of their names. Parents take delight in announcing that their children have become doctors or engineers. No one believes that going through these difficult steps to become a doctor or an engineer is a waste of time.
Engineering and medicine are two of the most vital and in-demand industries, without which many of our advancements would be halted. All of today’s cutting-edge technologies are only conceivable thanks to exponential advances in engineering, and we’re developing therapies for many previously incurable and fatal diseases thanks to the same exponential advances in medicine. As a result, both of them are critical to our development and survival. But, in any case, the issue isn’t one of engineering or medicine. The issue is that, whether or not they have talents in the subjects, the majority of students choose engineering or medicine as a professional path. The most serious flaw is in society. It is a typical societal belief that everything is contained within engineering or medicine, which is wrong.
Every field is being given more attention by the world. To be honest, no one cares what your career is these days; instead, everyone cares about your skills and what you can do with them. It doesn’t matter if you’re a doctor, an engineer, an artist, a businessman, a politician, a social worker, a sportsperson, an actress, a journalist, or something else. What piques our attention is what you can do with all of these.
As a result, constantly choose to become what you desire. Others should not be allowed to influence one’s life choices. It needs to be entirely personal. Let the children follow their dreams if they want to be an engineer or an astronaut. Let them follow their dreams if they want to be a writer or a doctor or a singer. They have the right to make decisions about their life.Â
They have the freedom to do whatever they desire. With life’s choices, no one response is incorrect. However, these are things that have a long-term impact on us so we can guide them to make informed decisions. So, explore the options of life, choose a career based on their skills and tendencies, and watch them rock the world with your abilities.
